How to choose polyurethane coated wheels

Polyurethane coated wheels are selected with different sizes, materials, and structures based on actual loads, speeds, environmental temperatures, and structures to ensure that the polyurethane coated wheels are used at their rated parameters.

Polyurethane coated wheels

1) Definition of thickness for heavy-duty rubber wheels:

The thickness of the coating is a recommended range, and there are many factors that affect the final performance. In addition to the product safety factor, a small change in thickness has little impact on the final performance. In general, for various hardness and materials, the recommended thickness standard for McLaren polyurethane can be referred to. Special occasions shall be separately accounted for according to special requirements;

2) Definition of speed for heavy-duty rubber wheels:

The conventional linear velocity defined by Mailun polyurethane is less than 2m/s, the medium speed is 2-4 m/s, and the high speed is greater than 5 m/s; Speed and load are inversely proportional, with smaller loads resulting in faster speeds; Large load, slow speed;

3) Selection of Wheel Core:

Cast iron, carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and nylon can all be selected as wheel cores;

4) Selection of PU material:

At the beginning, it is milky white, gradually changing from yellow to brown to brownish red to black. The color gradually darkens with time and light exposure, which is a normal phenomenon. The performance will not change, and this is also a direct and useful way to determine whether it is an NDI system without testing equipment.

5) Suitable ambient temperature

The temperature range for use is -40 to 110 degrees Celsius; Suggest that the high temperature of the environment should not exceed 90 degrees Celsius;

The temperature range for use is -40 to 70 degrees Celsius; Suggest overloading and high-speed environments with high temperatures not exceeding 45 degrees Celsius; Light load, low-speed environment, high temperature not exceeding 60 degrees Celsius;

6) Product design lifespan

The service life of the entire series of products is 7-10 years. Starting from 7 years, the performance of the products gradually decreases, and after 10 years, the basic performance of the elastomer is lost. Except for special environments.
