Characteristics of polyurethane wheels
1. There are various processing methods and wide applicability. Polyurethane elastomers can be molded using processes such as plasticizing, mixing, and vulcanization, similar to general rubber (referring to MPU); It can also be made into liquid rubber, which can be cast, molded, sprayed, sealed, or centrifuged (referring to CPUs); It can also be made into granular materials, which can be molded using injection, extrusion, rolling, blow molding and other processes like ordinary plastics (referring to TPU). Molded or injection molded parts can also undergo mechanical processing such as cutting, grinding, and drilling within a certain hardness range. The diversity of processing makes polyurethane elastomers widely applicable and their application fields constantly expanding.
2. Superior wear resistance. Especially under working conditions with wetting media such as water and oil, its wear resistance is often several to tens of times that of ordinary rubber materials. The rubber rollers of rice hullers used for rice milling, vibrating screen plates used for coal preparation, track tracks for sports fields, dynamic oil seals for cranes and shovels, elevator wheels, and roller skates are all applications of polyurethane elastomers. It should be mentioned that in order to improve the friction coefficient of low to medium hardness polyurethane elastomers and enhance their wear resistance under load, a small amount of lubricants such as aluminum disulfide, graphite, or silicone oil can be added to these polyurethane elastomers.
3. Oil resistance, ozone resistance, aging resistance, radiation resistance, low temperature resistance, good sound transmission, strong adhesion, excellent biocompatibility and blood compatibility. These advantages are precisely why polyurethane elastomers have been applied in military, aerospace, acoustics, biology and other fields.
